Alla Prima Studio offers a creative experience of a life time. Our retreats take place at exclusive locations throughout the Napa Valley. May through October, Thursday through Sunday. Alla Prima Studio provides all materials and essential techniques for painting landscapes from observation. The exercises and demonstrations have been developed to benefit each individuals painting experience, technical exercises will accommodate all skill levels.

Alla Prima (it. "at first"): a method of painting a picture from observation in one layer of pigment, usually on a white ground, without the use of under painting, glaze, or retouching.

Seasonally we visit Vineyards, Master Gardens to paint in fields of Iris, Lavender and gardens filled with over 5000 roses blossoming. Our course focus incorporates yoga and meditation, private tours of worlds class art collections. Deluxe packages include accommodations at Napa Valley's most exclusive resorts including private lessons, yoga, spa treatments and guided walks.
